September Chapter Ride
Contra Costa #186 is holding a riding skills refresher, run by a
CHP motor officer, at Deer Valley High School in Amtioch. The only fee
is $7 if you get lunch on site. We were specifically invited to join
186.
Those of you who live in and/or near Antioch, can just meet at
the rear parking lot at 9:15am. Everyone else, meet at CCC's Location
#1, Pleasant Hill at 8:30am for a 9am departure. Dan Ritter will Road
Captain and will pick a Tailgunner.
Everyone will receive three items for their participation:
1. A chart with most of the specifications that affect handling.
2. A copy of each practice session so you can continue on your own.
3. A copy of the 2005 California Motorcycle Handbook.
Everyone MUST wear protective gear for this exercise. That means over-the-ankle
foot protection, jeans at a minimum, protective long sleeve jacket,
helmet, and gloves.
Everyone MUST sign two waivers. One is the regular ride waiver from
Star. The second one will be on site and is specific to riding in an
event where a permit is required.

September 22-25 (Thu-Sun) - Street Vibrations -
Reno, NV
No official chapter sanctioned events or rides planned. As of yet,
no members have brought plans to go to our attention.
This is not an official chapter event, but it is the last big ride-in
of the season.
If you have not already booked a room, you will probably have to spend
the night in Winnemuca.
All the national vendors show up for this event, and while it's still
HD-heavy, the metrics continue to grow.
There will be several brands with their test fleets to do demo rides
and Reno holds it's own allure...
