May 19th & 20th Southwest Star BQ
The member's of Chapter's #109, #230, & #345 would like to thank all of you who are attending this year's Southwest STAR-B-Q. As of today, we have a total of 263 members registered for the event, and more coming in each day! The following are a few reminders we would like you to pass-on to your member's:
- April 20th is the last day that Fantasy Springs Resort Casino is offering their discounted rate of $92.00 per night (plus 10% tax). After the 21st, the rate will go way UP. However, the Holiday Inn down the street from Fantasy Springs will honor the $92.00 rate through April 25th (this is much different from an earlier post I left on Cruiser Cafe). Simply have your members identify themselves as a member of STAR Touring & Riding Association. If they have a problem with Fantasy Springs or the Holiday Inn, please contact Denise Nelson at Chapter #109. Her email address is denise@getanotarytogo.com If anyone is still on the fence about attending, I would at least reserve a hotel room as soon as possible. As they can cancel up to 72 hours before their arrival date.
- The Event Registration fee will remain at $49.00 per person; however, we need to give the hotel a head-count for Saturday nights dinner three days before the event. So, encourage your members to purchase a registration packet as soon as possible. They can register at www.star230.com or www.star345.com . Simply click on the scrolling message on the Home Page.
- Members that have registered for the event, need to verify that a receipt was emailed back from the registration committee showing confirmation of their $49.00 payment. If not, please have them contact Denise Nelson at the above listed email address.
So far, the Vender list includes:
- Debut of STAR Touring & Riding's new Trailer packed with goodies.
- Metric Thunder
- Pacific Coast Star
- Bike Buddy Pro
- A Leather vender
- Pin Striper
- Custom Photograher for you and your Bike
- Mobil Bike Wash and Detailer
Also, updated information will be posted on Cruiser Cafe at STAR's Tourings' website as it becomes available.
We look forward to seeing all of you there, especially at the MEET-n-GREET Friday night on the top floor of the Hotel which overlooks the entire valley of Palm Springs!
Thanks again, and if you have any questions, please feel free to call or email us.

This event is in its second year and raises money for the Vets Home in Yountville, among other things. This is a night ride that departs from several locations, which will all converge on the Sacramento State Vietnam Veterans Memorial about 30 minutes after Midnite Sunday. The idea is to get everyone safely to a motel or home before the bars let out. Use the attached form for more info registration is open now.
Ride Meeting: Those interested should contact one of the other local chapters to connect with their ride, we are not creating our own ride to attend this event.
