March 3rd Chapter Ride
Well it was Lucky's turn to come up with a ride idea and he'd never been to the top of Mt Diablo, so that's where we'll go! To go up there you have to enter the State Park and fees are $6.00 per vehicle, except for Lucky, who gets the senior discount at $5.00 (62 yr and over). We will stop at the summit and if you walk up to the tower, you can see whole Sierra, and from the Farallons to Mt Shasta. There's still enough snow left on the side of the road to make a snowball, so bring your Gortex gloves. Lunch in Clayton at Ed Mudville's Sports Bar and then a trip out Marsh Creek to the Vasco Shell in Livermore for a finish. All in all, a short day, should finish by 3PM or so.

March 24th Merced Chapter 212 Vet Ride
Please use the below link to the Merced Chapter flyer for this event supporting the troops of the 1st Battalion / 184th Infantry, currently over in the Sandbox. The 2nd page of the flyer has specific requests for needed donation items for these serving troops. I would ask anyone interested in attending this event to take Page 2 as a shopping list, go to Target or Walmart and buy a bunch of something on this list (or bunches of somethings). Be sure to get small packs rather than family sizes, so these things can be put into individual goody bags to be handed out to the troops. I think this is a GREAT event idea and if any 103's want to contribute, but can't attend, please get with me, so I can collect your donations before the event.

Ride Meeting:
This is a non-chapter ride, but I will be staging at the Vasco Road Shell to depart at 8:30AM to meet the Merced Chapter at the San Joaquin National Cemetery, in Santa Nella. Then proceed to the drop-off point in Merced at Castle AFB with all the goodies we generate. I expect Dawn will drive the Jeep, so you don't have to worry about packing any donations that I can pick up from you over the next week & a half. Call me to arrange pickup!!

March 31st San Jose Yamaha/209 Open House
I wish well those going to the Southwest StarBQ, but if you're not going, join Kevin in a ride down to the Open House being held by San Jose Yamaha. Meet at Fremont Starbucks at 10AM and we'll leave about 10:30AM. You may depart the Open House whenever you please. The 209 - Santa Clara Chapter and I would like you to attend, even if only for a short while, to help us gain respect of the dealer, whom we are going to hit up for cash support for our own High Sierra StarBQ, in June.
