April 5th Officers Meeting

Meeting: 7:30 PM Mexico Lindo (Pleasanton)

6690 Koll Center Pkwy, Pleasanton, CA 94566 (925) 462-1140

April 8th Chapter Ride

Co-Chapter Ride with Contra Costa County Chapter # 186. This ride will take us through a nice variety of Northern California landscapes and great country roads. This time of year it will be green and the wine country, foothills, and forested areas will all be beautiful. Some of these roads and places will be familiar to folks who have done a fair amount of riding with the 186; but some things will be new also.

Here's the plan:We will make our way up to the Silverado Trail and take a rest stop in Calistoga. From there we'll wind our way along Hwy 128, Canyon Road, and Dutcher Creek to Cloverdale where we'll stop for lunch and gas up the bikes.

After lunch, we'll head northwest on Hwy 128, then take Mountain House into Hopland. From Hopland we will take state road 175 which will introduce some nice twisties as we head east toward Clearlake and then south into Middletown.

After taking a break and gassing up in Middletown, we'll traverse along Butts Canyon and Chiles / Pope Valley roads east of Lake Berryessa, then drop back down onto the Silverado Trail and have our final stop in Napa. Allowing plenty of time for our stops, we should be heading home from Napa around 4:00-4:30pm.

Points of Interest: Napa Valley, Calistoga, Knights Valley, Geyserville, Dutcher Creek, Cloverdale, Mountain House Road, Hopland, Hwy 175, Middletown, Pope Valley.

Notes: Bring $3 for bridge toll.

Ride Meeting: 7:45AM San Ramon Starbucks

April 15th Chapter Event

Event sponsered by Contra Costa County Chapter # 186. Skills improvement session.

Description: This session will give you hints and tips on how to become a
better rider. This will not teach you how to ride a motorcycle. A key to
riding a motorcycle is the ability to become part of the controls and managing
the motorcycle so it does what you want, when you want it. Exercises will be
demonstrated and then each member will execute the same. This year, we are
fortunate to be able to use the same area as the MSF, so it is nice and flat
with plenty of room. Each attendee will receive a packet of information to take
with them.

Notes: This is the second time we're putting this on. It was quite successful
the last time and is being repeated at members' requests. Some improvements are
that some of the exercises are a bit more relaxed. You will take part (if you'd
like) in an exercise on how to properly pick up a bike that is on it's side.

This is a special invitation only to members of Chapter 186 and their guests.
We are also inviting Chapter 315 in Vacaville, and Chapter 103 out of Alameda.
Everyone attending MUST have a STAR waiver signed and in addition will be asked
to sign special waiver on-site.

Ride Meeting: 9:00AM CCC Location #2 (scroll to bottom for directions), Oakley Chevron/Carl's Jr.

Ride Start : unknown but probably 9:30AM

Road Captain: CCC #186 Dan Ritter
Presenters: CCC #186 Jim Allan, Bill Patterson, and Dan Soraoka
